TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - An 18-year-old has been arrested after he got into a fight with a staff member at Lincoln High School and broke into his ex-girlfriend's room.
According to a probable cause document, Marcus Harris was arrested on March 1.
They said that on Feb. 28, they were called to a possible burglary in progress on Justice Lane. While in route, they were told by the victim's mother that her 16-year-old daughter's ex, Harris, was in their house.
Apparently the day before the incident, both the victim and her mother told Harris that he needed to leave and not come back.
The victim told police that since Feb. 27, Harris had been trying non-stop to talk to her.
When police walked through the home on Feb. 28, they found no obvious signs of forced entry. They also found that Harris had stolen the victim's make-up. They also learned from the victim that Harris had showed up to her high school.
He also began to harass one of the victim's friends.
Through out several rounds of messages, Harris begged for the victim to come back to him. He also sent the victim videos of him entering and taking things from the victim's room.
From there, police took fingerprints off of the objects they had seen Harris touch in the videos and pictures he sent to the victim.
At some point, the Tallahassee Police Department got another call from Harris' mom saying that Harris was talking about committing suicide and "banging on everything in the house."
Police were unable to locate Harris the day of the incident, but found him the next day while he was attending classes at Lively Vocational Tech.
When interviewed, he told police that the situation was a misunderstanding. He said that the 16-year-old victim had invited him to come to the house.
Soon after, the two got into an argument and the victim left.
Harris sad that after the victim left, she texted him to bring her make-up and her keys. He said that he had sent a picture of him collecting the items as proof.
He said that he then left and boarded the city bus. Sometime after, the victim texted him to leave the items at the house, but he had already left. He claimed that he told her that he would bring the items to her school the next day.
Harris told police that the victim lied to her mother about the burglary to avoid getting in trouble.
After the interview, he was transported to the Leon County Jail. Harris is facing multiple charges including burglary, grand theft, stalking, and resisting an officer w/o violence.
