TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man arrested for indecent exposure told police he pulled down his pants to remove a bug.

James Edward Banks, 25, who was booked into the Leon County Jail on Tuesday, was caught with his pants down near a bus stop at 2700 W. Pensacola St. on Sept. 16.

A witness told police he saw Banks touching himself early that morning.

Banks could not tell the officer the kind of bug it was and told the responding officer he panicked at its presence and reacted quickly.

The witness said he saw Banks exposing himself in public two nights in a row.

Banks was later arrested at the Kearney Center, a homeless shelter the court document said he is known to frequent.

He is to go to court Nov. 7, 2017, for a case management conference.
