TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- A 20-year-old man is arrested after a body is found dead in the Ochlockonee River.

Deputies with the Leon County Sheriff's Office say the two were at a party on Golden Park Lane Friday night, but wandered away after becoming intoxicated. They say 20-year-old Jeffrey Rushing then drove away with 20-year-old Jordan Rae Nedeau as a passenger.

Deputies found Rushing passed out yesterday morning near business at Woodlane Circle and Capital Circle Northwest. Rushing told deputies he drove into the Ochlockonee River near the end of Tower Road while Nedeau was still inside the car.

The LCSO dive team discovered the car with Nedeau's body inside at around 1:30 Sunday morning. An autopsy shows Nedeau died from drowning. Rushing is charged with vehicular manslaughter. Deputies are continuing to investigate.
