Man Arrest After Attempted Sexual Battery at Sorority House

Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University Police arrest a man in connection to a sexual assault at a campus sorority house in October 2016. 

Based on arrest warrants obtained by FSUPD, Adam James Rooks, 29, of Hoschton, GA, was booked for attempted sexual battery and burglary of a dwelling with person assaulted.

Rooks turned himself in to the Leon county jail on February 4th and is being held on a $275,000 bond.

Significant progress was made on the case due to an anonymous tip after Rooks’ likeness was posted with a request for assistance by the FSUPD.

The investigation was launched after a student reported she was assaulted while home in bed at her sorority house on October 29, 2016.

The FSUPD would like to thank the community for its assistance while they investigated this offense.
