VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - A man is behind bars after being accused of selling illegal drugs to personnel on Moody Air Force Base.

The Valdosta Police Department says someone called complaining that someone was selling drugs to personnel on Moody Air Force Base.

Through an investigation, police were able to identify the suspect as Devin Mitchell.

Tuesday morning, officers responded to a hotel in the 1500 block of Baytree Road and found the 33-year old in possession of 12.2 grams of cocaine, a gun, and other items associated with the sale of illegal drugs.

He's facing several charges including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

Police say more charges are pending investigation. Mitchell is being held in the Lowndes County Jail.

“The case illustrates a great example of agencies working together to get a dangerous person off of the streets,” said Commander Leslie Manahan.
