THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL)--A man is in jail accused of kidnapping and raping a woman in Thomasville.
Shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday, a woman told police she was walking along Church Street when a white minivan pulled up beside her, according to reports.
Police say the driver jumped out, put something over her mouth, and forced her into the van.
Police say the man then took her to his home on Wolf Street and sexually assaulted her.
They say he let her go, and she called for help.
Police tracked down the suspect, Wilbert Burney III, and took him in for questioning. Police say Burney is charged with kidnapping and rape.
