HOLIDAY, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Highway Patrol says a man drove off the road and hit his pregnant girlfriend with his car before fleeing the area.
The incident happened Monday afternoon as 32-year-old Crystal Noordhuizen was walking along the shoulder of a road near Holiday north of Tampa. Troopers say 33-year-old Justin Colby drove his Dodge Charger into her, then crashed into a pole. He got out of the car, walked to his home and left on a motorcycle.
Pasco County Sheriff's deputies arrested Colby late Monday. He's charged with attempted murder.
The Tampa Tribune (http://bit.ly/15Ogkvc ) reports Noordhuizen, who is seven months pregnant, told authorities she had gotten into an argument with Colby shortly before the incident. She was treated for minor injuries.
Colby remained in jail Tuesday morning.
