TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - With major natural disasters like hurricanes, comes feelings of anxiety, stress, and sleeplessness.

The uncertainty of what a hurricane can bring to an area leaves many people wondering if their family and friends will be O.K.

Family Therapist Jane Marks says if there is one thing people can do to relax during the stressful time is to have patience.

"You want to make sure that you take really good care of yourself. During this time you want to eat better as oppose to worse, and so what I tell my patients, what I just tell people in general protein, protein, protein," said Marks. "When you have things at hand, make sure you eat protein during the course of the day."

Marks also says to make sure to stay away from alcohol and try to drink less or no caffeine.
