TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Apparently monsters are living outside of director Gregory S. Boebinger's office at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.
Boebinger found it rather humorous to see his employees wandering around outside his office looking at their phones. He says his administrative assistant interpreted what it all meant. They were playing Pokemon Go.
The problem was that the game would lead employees into places they shouldn't be, and their decision to ban Pokemon Go indoors was a strictly proactive decision so employees can stay attentive walking through the buildings and to remain focused on safety in the labs.
Employees and visitors can play Pokemon Go outside of the buildings on the property.
Here is the message that was sent out to employee from Boebinger on June 12:
To all MagLab personnel,
Effective immediately, it is forbidden to play Pokemon Go inside any MagLab building.
This is because the game can lead you into laboratories which you do not have permission to enter….and into lab spaces that may have hazards which you are not trained to safely handle.
I expect full and immediate compliance with this email.
Thank you.
Greg Boebinger
