MADISON Co., Fla., (WTXL) -- A woman says she was beaten for disciplining her child in Madison County.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Sunday around 8:30pm, deputies were called to the 300 block of Georgetown Road for a possible shooting incident.

There, they found the victim and witnesses who told them the victim was talking with her young children and the suspect, 22-year-old Ladarius Aikens.

They report Aikens got upset with the victim for disciplining one of the children and started yelling that he was going to “pistol whip” her. Deputies say, he then began beating the victim, with what was described as a pistol, in the back of the head.  Aikens allegedly, then picked the victim up and slammed her to the ground. Emergency medical services were called and took the victim for further treatment.

The victim’s brother reported he tried to talk to Aikens, who again, became aggressive and violent, shooting the pistol several times in the air and drove away.

Deputies eventually found Aikens in the 300 block of SW Georgetown Road and arrested him.

Aikens is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated child abuse, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of felony and improper exhibition of firearm.
