MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Madison County Sheriff's Office said a suspect was captured after fleeing from a traffic stop first in a vehicle and then on foot.

The suspect was captured near the Lee First Baptist Church on Wednesday, MCSO said in a Facebook post.

The sheriff's office's post did not provide the name of the suspect, and a call to the office noted that the person with the information would return Monday.

The sheriff's office used a K9 to track the suspect, who was initially stopped on County Road 255 North of US 90.

The driver initially stopped but then fled in the vehicle turning onto Kel Lane before crashing through trees and a fence, disabling his vehicle. The driver then fled on foot.
