MADISON CO., Fla. (WTXL) - Freezing temperatures in Madison County slowing things down for a little bit.

Residents in Madison County residents say they don't see this very often.

A fountain, benches, signs, even Mickey and Minnie statues were coated in a layer of ice.

When word spread last night that these freezing temps would cause icy conditions, the 911 Center at Madison County decided to hop right on it, getting ready for anything that could happen.

Officials spent the day responding to emergency calls and making sure that everything operated smoothly.

Brian Kauffman, the Madison Co. Coordinator, says out of his 20 years living in Madison County, he's never encountered anything like this.

In fact, his strongest memory of something similar was back in 1989 when a three day snow storm came through Florida.

All roads and bridges in Madison County are now back open following the icy conditions.
