Madison Co. investigators looking for Pit Stop burglary suspects

MADISON, Fla. -- Investigators are looking for suspects accused of  breaking into a Pit Stop and stealing cigarettes, according to Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart.

The incident happened on Sunday, January 20, after 9 p.m. Corporal Kevin Stout says he was patrolling the area/ he discovered that someone had broken the window of the Pit Stop on 1407 East Base Street.

Other sheriff's office officials responded, but no suspect was found.

Preliminary investigations show that the suspects threw a brick through the window to break it, however, the business security alarm didn't activate. 

The security video shows two suspects entered the building at 9:04 p.m. and ran behind the counter, where the y took an undetermined amount of cigarettes before exiting out the same window. The video showed the subjects being dressed in all black with their faces covered, and were in and out in under a minute.

Blood evidence was recovered at the scene, suggesting that at least one of the subjects cut themselves on the glass when entering/exiting the building.
