MACON, Ga. (AP) — A Macon man has been found dead after authorities say he fell into a swimming pool.
Bibb County Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley tells local news outlets that the body of 55-year-old Jessie Johnson was found by his wife on Sunday, about 45 minutes after she says he had gone out into the backyard to do some work.
Johnson was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Miley says it's unclear how Johnson ended up in the pool, which had about six feet of water in it. An autopsy will be performed to determine whether he drowned or suffered from a medical condition that caused him to collapse and fall.
