LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk is warning people about a jury duty scam.
He says someone is calling people, telling them they have jury duty, but they can pay up to $1,200 to get out of it.
Paulk says jury duty summons do not come over the phone and you cannot buy your way out of it.
Anyone who receives one of the bogus calls should report it to your local police or sheriff's office.
