LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Two Lowndes County Schools launched pilot programs this year to give students breakfast and lunch for free.
Clyattville Elementary School and Moulton-Branch Elementary School qualified for the program.
That's because more than 40-percent of their student's families get Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
Lake Park Elementary and Lowndes Middle School also qualified, but district officials say it wasn't feasible to extend the program to those schools right now.
They'll revisit their eligibility status next April.
