LOWNDES CO., GA (WTXL) - An arrest has been made for a fatal crash on Old Clyattville Road near Hardee Road in Lowndes County.
Jeremy Carter has been charged with two counts of felony first degree vehicular homicide.
Authorities say the 35-year-old also faces charges of reckless driving, driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, improper passing, and open container.
These charges stem from a February fatal accident that killed 23-year-old Kyle Naville and 22-year-old Logan Shelley.
Both Navelle and Shelley died on scene after being hit by a truck driving in the opposite direction. According to officials, the driver of the truck, Carter, was attempting to pass a school bus when he drove into the other lane. Carter was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
A toxicology report later showed that Carter had alcohol in his system during the time of the crash.
Carter is now being held at the Lowndes County Jail.
