CAMILLA, GA (WALB) - A southwest Georgia high school student, killed in a car crash, was laid to rest on Thursday.

Pelham City High School senior, Madison Collier passed away after a car crash over the weekend.

Since then, her friends and family say the love they have for her has only magnified.

Many describe her as one of the kindest and most selfless people they knew.
Madison's best friend since childhood, Carrissa Morgan tells me saying goodbye for the last time is "life altering."

"Everybody was you know, praying, hoping that she'd pull through, everybody was just there for her. And I really feel like that made her happy," said Morgan.

Madison's parents said she had just been accepted into the college of her choice hours before she was killed in the car crash.

Morgan said Madison was ecstatic when she found out she had been accepted.

"It was amazing. Because, I know she wanted to go there so bad. It was her first choice. And we planned on celebrating," said Morgan.

Unfortunately, Madison didn't get the chance to do so. Malcolm Collier, Madison's father, said he was at work when Madison's mom called to tell him the tragic news.

"I felt something. My heart just dropped, because I could hear the pain in her voice. That's when it hit me that something was really wrong, something was bad," said Malcolm.

Madison died in the hospital on Saturday surrounded by friends and family.

Collier's parents said they're starting a non-profit organization in Madison's name, in an effort to share her kindness and selflessness with others.
