TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (LOT)-- Members and supporters of Locally Owned Tallahassee are asking residents to pledge to shop locally this holiday season. Those who take the pledge to spend 20 percent of their holiday budgets with local independent businesses will be entered to win prizes from New Leaf Market, jewelry from Quarter Moon Imports, gift certificates and more.
Locally Owned Tallahassee says that 68 cents of every dollar spent locally, stays local. That’s more than twice the amount that is recycled in the local community when a dollar is spent at a chain.
To take the pledge today, visit the Locally Owned Tallahassee Facebook page and visit the group’s event “Take the 20% Shop Local Pledge” By joining the event you will be automatically entered to win the prizes.
The winners will be chosen randomly on December 22.
