UPDATE (November 17, 2013 6:30 PM)
Tallahassee's first ever smoke out event was a success.
The program challenged smokers to quit by 2014. On Saturday at the Tallahassee Mall, people participated in cessation classes, health screenings and exercise demonstrations.
Bill Hampsch, the founder of the event was a smoker himself who says he couldn't have kicked the habit without support from others. Hampsch also mentioned that there are plenty of resources available if you weren't able to come to the event on Saturday.
WTXL was a proud media partner of the event.
