UPDATE: Tallahassee police say Tuesday shootings don't appear related

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Tallahassee police are providing updates to two shootings that happened Tuesday afternoon, and they say the two cases don't appear to be related.

The first shooting happened at apartments located on the 1400 block of Alabama Street. Police were called to the scene at about 4 p.m. Officers say the victim, 24-year-old Takendrick Grant, was shot in his hand, upper leg, and chest area. A suspect -- 19-year-old LaPadre Sharpe -- was later arrested and charged with first degree murder.

About 30 minutes later, Police were called to the scene of a second shooting, 2525 Texas Street. There they found three victims-- 59-year-old Robert Calloway, 24-year-old Vernon Patterson, and 40-year-old Gerald Faust -- all suffering from gunshot wounds. The men were taken to the hospital for treatment for treatment. One victim, Faust, later died as a result of injuries received in the shooting.

Police are still investigating both incidents, and they are looking for suspects in the Texas Street shooting. Community members with information about this case are asked to call TPD at 850-891-4200 or the Big Bend Crime Stoppers at 574-TIPS.


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee police are looking for the suspects wanted in two separate shootings.

The first happened just before 4:00 p.m. on Alabama street.  Police say one person was shot multiple times and taken to the hospital. Another victim showed up to the hospital with gunshot wounds a short time later.

The second shooting happened at 4:30 p.m. at the Sunrise Place Apartments on Texas street. Police say three men were shot.
