MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- All eyes are on Tropical Depression Nine. And even though the system has been slower to develop than expected, a Tropical Storm is still likely to form soon.
The threats with the system are numerous, including rain accumulations of 3" to 6" (isolated spots can see higher totals), severe threats (including isolated tornadoes), storm surge (2' to 4' water rises along the Gulf coast), and gusty winds associated with the center of the storm.
Tropical Storm Watches are in effect for the northeastern part of Florida, as well as several counties in South Georgia (see attached pictures).
Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for the Big Bend coast and inland counties of North Florida (see attached picture).
Hurricane Watches are also in effect for the coastline as well as offshore waters of the Big Bend.
The landfall timing of the storm is forecast to occur late Thursday into early Friday morning (slowing down from previous thoughts of a Thursday evening landfall).
More updates will be made available as soon as they occur. Stay here for the latest.
