Stand Your Ground rally at capitol expected to impact traffic

TALLAHASSEE, FL ( WTXL) -- The Police Department is planning to make the route  for the anticipated Stand Your Ground rally as safe and efficient as possible.

The march will begin at The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center at 9:30am and  proceed east on West Madison Street to Duval Street and finish at Waller Park, located on west side of the Capitol Building.

TPf officers will be on hand to help with traffic during the march. The following streets will be closed during the march:

  • West Madison Street from the Civic Center (Macomb Street) to Adams Street during the march.South Duval Street will be closed at beginning of the march and remain closed between Madison Street and West College Avenue during the event at Waller Park.

  • Overflow parking will be in the City parking lot located at the southeast corner of South Bronough and West Madison Streets.  This lot is accessible from South Bronough Street.

The rally in Waller Park is scheduled to end at approximately 1:00 p.m.
