TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The holidays are rapidly approaching and starting Monday the Salvation Army of the Big Bend will kick off its annual Red Kettle Campaign.

Bell ringers will be out at more than 30 locations throughout Leon, Wakulla, and Gadsden counties collecting donations for the Salvation Army.

Organizers are hoping to surpass last year's total of $137,000.

Salvation Army's Captain Julio Da Silva spoke Thursday on WTXL Sunrise about the need of volunteers and how those donations are used locally.
