TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Sunday is the second night of Chanukah and the local Jewish center celebrating their culture in honor of the holiday.
It's all part of the twelfth annual Chanukah celebration in Lake Ella Park.
Chanukah, the Jewish festival of lights, lasts for eight nights in celebration of the miracle of lights.
More than 100 people coming out to enjoy latkes with apple sauce and sour cream.
The main event was the lighting of the giant menorah overlooking Lake Ella.
Rabbi Oirechman said it's important for people to have the freedom to practice their faith.
“It feels great that people are coming out from all denominations. This is the message of Chanukah, it's a message of universal freedom for everyone, for Jews and non-Jews alike and that's the message of America. We live in a county where we could practice our faith so could connect with god so go ahead and do it,” he said.
One of the traditions includes incorporating sweet treats people even got a chance to enjoy some donuts on the menorah.
