QUINCY, FL (WTXL) -- Two animals in Gadsden County have tested positive for a mosquito-borne illness known as Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
As of last week, a goat and a horse in the county tested positive.
According to the Department of Health, there has been an increase of mosquito-borne illness in Gadsden County. Health officials say that they are working to resolve the issues.
Gadsden County is currently without a Mosquito Control Director and they have reached out to neighboring Jackson County for temporary help with mosquito abatement.
