Thunderstorms forming along the Panhandle, Big Bend, and tri-state areas have been quickly building into stronger systems Saturday morning.
Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued for several western counties because of the development of large hail in some of the storms. One-inch diameter hail has already been reported in Wewahitchka in Gulf County, and in near Crawfordville in Wakulla County.
These storms are moving east to northeasterly at roughly 40 mph. Some of these storms may reach the Tallahassee metro area later this morning.
A few storms are also forming along the state line counties in southern Georgia, with similar potential for large hail.
Frequent lightning has been occurring in all of these storms.
