Meigs, Ga (WTXL) - Meigs residents rallied at the town's city hall Wednesday to protest the firing of their police chief. Former police chief, Edward Rauls was let go this week by the city manager.

Rauls told the Times Enterprise his termination papers said he simply wasn't doing his job, but he's saying it was because of the city manager's poor judgement.

We reached out to the City manager Marsha Demonga for some answers, but the city has a policy of not discussing personnel matters.

There is no one currently acting as Police chief. The Meigs Police Department, says they have to speak with the city council before anyone is chosen.
