LIVE OAK, FL (WTXL) -- A 33-year-old man is listed in critical condition after he was hit by a car Thursday night on State Road 51, said the Florida Highway Patrol.
Daniel Fitzgerald was standing on the side of the road north of 133rd Drive just before 10:30 p.m. when he walked out in front of a passing car, said troopers.
The driver of the car that hit Fitzgerald, Robert Eaken, did a U turn down the road and came back to the scene, said troopers.
At this time troopers have not said why Fitzgerald walked out in front of the car. Fitzgerald was taken to the hospital and was listed in critical condition.
