HAMILTON CO., Fla. -- A Jasper, Florida, resident was critically injured in a Hamilton County single-car crash, according to Florida troopers.
Troopers say the crash happened at 10:45 p.m. on Monday. The driver, 48-year-old Joseph Giglio, was driving a semi-tractor and trailer southbound along County Road 143. For unknown reasons, the vehicle veered of the road and into a ditch, striking several trees in the process. The truck then overturned, and the cab separated from the frame.
Giglio was taken to South Georgia Medical Center. Troopers say he was critically injured as a result of the crash.
Troopers say he wasn't wearing a seat belt.
Hamilton County is located east of Madison County and just north of Suwannee County. Jasper is north of Live Oak.
