TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The South Georgia Medical Center and Valdosta/Lowndes County YMCA are teaming up to offer a one-day Safe Sitter course.
It's a way for pre-teens to learn safety skills for when they're alone or babysitting. There's also a medical aspect, with hands-on training to teach choking rescue and CPR.
The class is for boys and girls ages 11 to 14.Courses are scheduled for June 12, June 19, July 10 and July 17, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at South Georgia Medical Center. It costs $45 per child to take part.
