TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Florida State's Senior Associate Director of Athletics and former FSU football player Monk Bonasorte has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Bonasorte is a member of Florida State's All-Time Football Team, he also played in the 1977 Tangerine Bowl and two Orange Bowls.
According to the university, he ranks second in school history with 15 interceptions. He was been Senior Associate Director of Athletics for eight years.
FSU Director of Athletics Stan Wilcox released a statement, regarding his colleague, saying
"Monk is not only physically fit, but also has a strong will and great optimism. We see those qualities every day while working with him. We share his positive attitude and I know he is getting overwhelming support from the athletics department and Seminoles around the country."
