TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Florida A&M University has made U.S. News and World Report's list as one of the "2015 Best Colleges."
FAMU is also listed as the nation's top public historically black college or university (HBCU), according to the report. It is listed as number eight among public and private HBCU institutions.
FAMU President Dr. Elmira Mangum says that the report is "proof that Florida A&M University is headed in the right direction towards fulfilling our vision to be a best-in-class, land-grant institution, and of accomplishing our mission to meet the educational demands of the technology-driven 21st century."
In order to qualify for the rankings, a school must offer a full range of undergraduate majors, master's and doctoral programs, and a commitment to research.
In addition to this announcement, the Rattlers have several things to be excited about, such as the reinstatement of their golf team.
