TALLAHASSEE,Fla.(WTXL)-- Members of the Dream Defenders gathered at Florida’s State Capitol to demand that Governor Rick Scott call a special session of the Florida legislature to address the issues at the center of the Trayvon Martin tragedy. It was an event that drew out around 100 concerned students, residents and members of the community.

Phillip Agnew, Executive Director of the Dream Defenders had this to say, “Our anger in the face of gross injustice has led us to take action, but it is the love of our people and our community that pushes us forward,” Agnew said.

There was a large presence of emotions, signs and the sharing of personal stories. The Dream Defenders vow to always remain on the front lies for justice, until the Governor has called a special session of the legislature to create a new Trayvon Martin Civil Rights Act for the state of Florida.
