TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- More than 45 local restaurants will be serving up samples of their best dishes this weekend for an event to support Children's Home Society of North Florida.

Children's Home Society of Florida is the oldest and largest statewide organization devoted to helping children and families, serving more than 100,000 children and families each year.

For the 28th year they will be hosting their annual "Chefs' Sampler" event this Sunday, April 21, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Tallahassee Mall.

The event features plenty of food from dozens of local restaurants as well as live entertainment and new this year, a Kids Zone.

"By participating in this event, we hope you will take home not only an appreciation of Tallahassee's finest culinary delights, but most importantly the knowledge that your donation will help make a difference in the life of a child in need," said Melissa Wright, Chefs' Sampler Chair, and Katrina Rolle with CHS North Central Board of Directors. "Your support provides more than an evening of entertainment...generates critical dollars for a broad array of CHS services including adoption and pregnancy counseling, child protection services, community based foster care, early intervention, as well as crisis intervention, mental health counseling and emergency shelter care for some of our most vulnerable children."

Tickets to the event are $50 and can be purchased from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Children's Home Society office or at the doors to the event.
