TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Chief meteorologist Casanova Nurse mixed the importance of weather preparedness and reading at Woodville K-8 School in southern Leon County Tuesday.
The school hosted community leaders and other local celebrities during the second day of Celebrate Literacy Week. Stories were read to groups of students, emphasizing the need to including reading in everyday life while providing entertaining tales to the kids.
Casanova read to three second-grade classes in the school's media center. The selection presented to the children was Freddy the Frogcaster by meteorologist Janice Dean.
