TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Weather hazards and safety advice were the topics of discussion in the latest "Cas in the Class" school visit conducted by chief meteorologist Casanova Nurse.
Cas talked to about 200 second-graders in the cafeteria of Tallahassee's Gilchrist Elementary, accompanied by the executive director of the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, Sharon Tyler.
The duo highlighted various weather dangers and tips for the students on how to avoid them. Casanova focused on the scientific aspect of how thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, and flooding can occur, while Sharon gave information on safety measures and family emergency planning.
This was Cas and Sharon's second consecutive year discussing weather threats and related safety measures at the school.
