TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Children cheered and peered with glee as a serving of stories was provided to them in the Capital City.

Chief Meteorologist Casanova Nurse participated for the second consecutive year as a storyteller in the "Thanks for Reading" event at Brandon's Place, a Early Head Start educational center operated by Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend.

Casanova was amongst a number of volunteers who read educational books to kids between the ages of one and three at a variety of locations in the Tallahassee area Monday and Tuesday.

Casanova read to six children and their teachers and aides.  The selection, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff, was an interactive experience for the students, featuring cookie and milk props, and the chance to identify and review basic colors contained within the story.
