TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Preschool kids had a literary treat in the days leading up to Thanksgiving.
Monday morning, Chief Meteorologist Casanova Nurse participated for the third year as a storyteller in the "Thanks for Reading" event at Brandon's Place, a Early Head Start educational center operated by Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend.
Casanova was the latest in a number of volunteers who read educational books to kids between the ages of one and three at a variety of locations in the Tallahassee area since last week.
Casanova read to six children and their teachers and aides. The selections, including Mouse Paint and The Mixed-Up Chameleon, were an interactive experience for the students, featuring colored paint and brushes on an easel, with the chance to identify and review basic colors and new colors when primary ones are blended together.
