TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Several people in Tallahassee have been arrested and charged with medicare fraud, said Attorney General Pam Bondi's Office.
Six former Targeted Case Managers of DS Connections, Inc. are accused of more than $170,000 in Medicaid fraud. DS Connections is a targeted case management company headquartered in Winter Park, Fla. with offices in Clermont and Tallahassee, said Bondi's office.
Statement from the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit:
According to the investigation, the defendants did not meet required minimum criteria for providing targeted case management services to persons. Additionally, the defendants allegedly caused false claims to be submitted to Florida Medicaid in various ways including, but not limited to, improperly billing for mileage, multiplying one trip by the number of recipients at an address, and billing for services of individuals that never required targeted case management services.
The below people were arrested in Leon County
- Amber Jade Bryant, 31, is facing one count of Medicaid fraud less than $10,000. If convicted, the defendant faces up to five years in prison, up to $74,264 in fines and restitution.
- Channing Ray Cannon, 24, is facing one count of Medicaid fraud less than $10,000. If convicted, the defendant faces up to five years in prison, up to $12,776 in fines and restitution.
- Monique Betrice Dawson, 41, is facing one count of Medicaid fraud more than $10,000. If convicted, the defendant faces up to 15 years in prison, up to $199,504 in fines and restitution.
- Latoya Dione Fryson, 33, is facing one count of Medicaid fraud less than $10,000. If convicted, the defendant faces up to five years in prison, up to $36,968 in fines and restitution.
- Susette Gibbs, 48, is facing one count of Medicaid fraud more than $10,000. If convicted, the defendant faces up to 15 years in prison, up to $322,648 in fines and restitution.
- Arbutas Dawson Williamson, 50, is facing one count of Medicaid fraud more than $10,000. If convicted, the defendant faces up to 15 years in prison, up to $343,450 in fines and restitution.
