TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A local woman whose life was saved by a blood donation is now hoping to return the favor.
In June 2016, Tonia Blount was in a serious car accident.
That crash would have taken her life if not for the four pints of blood she received.
Blount now gives blood every three months to give back the best way she knows how.
She says if it was not for donors she would not be alive.
"Prayers from family and friends were great, but people that out there donating blood is the one thing that actually saved my life to give me a chance to be with my kids," said Blount.
According to One Blood, one in three people will need a blood transfusion some point in their life.
That's why they're always encouraging people to donate, year-round.
