JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - More than two months later, families impacted by Hurricane Michael are still trying to pick up the pieces.

Tuesday morning, one Tallahassee tree servicing company provided some warmth for Jackson County students.

Bartlett Tree Experts gathered 500 knit caps to give to the students at Grand Ridge Middle School in Jackson County.

Every student at the school received a cap.

The team felt compelled to help and heard that students at the school had received gloves and coats, but no hats.

"It feels like you're doing a little something. There's so much yet to be done during these times for these communities," said Pam Pumphrey of Barlett Tree Experts. "This is our way to do something small but it means a lot to them and it means a lot to us to be able to do something at this time."

They were gifted the donations during an assembly Tuesday morning.
