TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Holiday travel ramps up big time on Thursday and it's not expected to die down for the next two weeks.
We were outside the Tallahassee International Airport with an update on airport traffic.
David Pollard, Director of Aviation at the Tallahassee Airport, said the number of people traveling this holiday season is at an all time high.
There were a steady stream of travelers in and out of the doors.
So if you are planning to fly out of town, arriving to the airport early is one of the most important things you can do to ensure you make your flight.
And that's not the only thing you can do to lower your holiday stress level while you travel.
“We’ll have continued heavy traffic loads here so we want to give a reminder to get here plenty early to give yourself extra time. Holidays can sometimes be a stressful time," said Pollard. "Don’t wrap any packages you may have and check with your airlines to keep an eye on the weather in the United States, you certainly want to pay attention to that.”
Pollard also stated that the staff at the airport are prepared and excited for the large number of people who will be traveling through the airport in the next few days.
Pollard advises that customers look ahead on their airline’s website to keep an eye on flight delays and to print out your boarding pass ahead of time, all to help improve traffic flow at the airport.
