TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - One Tallahassee teacher got quite the surprise Thursday morning.

Doctor Marilyn Proctor-Givens of Lincoln High School, was surprised with a $2,000 grant Thursday morning.

The grant comes through PCMG's Star Teacher Award, and through adoptaclassroom.org.

Doctor Proctor-Givens will be able to use the $2,000 to purchase much-needed classroom supplies and give her classroom a makeover.

"Teachers are spending a lot of money out of pocket to help supplement things for their classroom. Having an organization like PCMG come in to adopt us as a classroom is huge so we really appreciate that support," said Dr. Proctor-Givens.

Dr. Proctor-Givens will also receive mobile, height-adjustable desks to create an active learning environment.
