TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Upcoming baseball and softball tournaments are expected to bring a boost to the local economy according to the Tallahassee Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department and Florida State University.
There are seven softball tournaments scheduled, plus one baseball tournament that are expected to bring more than 9,300 visitors to the area.
The Leon County Division of Tourism Development says that many visitors will infuse more than $4,000,000 into local businesses between early June and through August.
The largest event, the Jacksonville Storm Showcase, expects to attract 100 teams and 2,500 visitors to the area in July.
