TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Students from the Tallahassee School of Math and Science got to enjoy the fruits and vegetables of their labor during the school year.

The local stem charter school used a grant from Lowe's hardware store and other community partners to teach gardening techniques.

The students and faculty were able to harvest kale from the school garden.

Kids have also been able to take care of the garden during this school year.

Tuesday marked the taste test, featuring three different ways to cook kale: Dehydrated, raw and a massage kale salad.

What's next for the kids? The spring gardening season. They will be harvesting and getting the beds ready for the winter.
