TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL)-- A local organization is launching a program in Leon County this year to help students struggling with math.
The "Mathpals" Curriculum will encourage students to master skills through exploration of math in the real world, collaborative learning, and independent practice. The program will match caring mentors one-on-one with 3rd graders who are struggling with math.
Program organizers say that by pairing mentors with students they can help these students by using real life math applications to build on.
The program is set to be held at Ruediger and Sealey Elementary Schools on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
Those interested in becoming a mentor can go here.
