TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A local pharmacist is offering help to Federal employees affected by the government shutdown.
George Armet, Owner of Compass Community Pharmacy, is willing to work with those affected by the government shutdown with the cost of their medicines.
He said no one should go without their medications just because they can't afford them.
He posted a message on Facebook saying federal employees in Tallahassee, if you need assistance with medicine at this time, stop by and see him.
The post has been shared 226 times on Facebook.
Armet said he is willing to work with people one-on-one, and figure out what their needs are.
Some available prescriptions he will give for free, he will also offer interest free credits, and he's also willing to work with someone's doctor to find a more affordable medication.
"I was just watching online, yesterday. Saw some people discussing that they were skipping medicine, and didn't know how they were going to pay their fifteen hundred dollar co-pays, and that just made me think that there was, in fact, something that I could do," said Armet.
He stated owning an independent pharmacy, he's able to be somewhat flexible and he got into pharmacy because he wanted to help people get well.
Armet told us he's gotten nothing but positive feedback so far from his customers.
If you want to visit him, Compass Community Pharmacy is located on Kerry Forrest Parkway in Tallahassee.
They are open until 8:00 p.m.
