TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Making sure every Veteran has a wreath is the mission of Wreaths Across America.

The Tallahassee National Cemetery needs 800 wreaths by November 30 to rest on the graves of 1,700 fallen vets.

Due to the pandemic, the organization fell short of their goal.

Now, they are asking the Tallahassee community to help sponsor wreaths for their ceremony in December.

"I really don't want a single grave not to be honored on the 19th of December," said Captain Wayne Hooks, the location coordinator of Wreaths Across America. "I have every belief that once Tallahassee knows that there's a shortage, that they would step up and honor our heroes."

It cost $15 to sponsor a wreath.
