SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A woman is fighting for her life after being shot in the head in Suwannee County Tuesday evening.
The Suwannee County Sheriff's office confirmed that a woman was shot outside a home off 214th Street Tuesday evening. The victim was then airlifted to a hospital where deputies say she remains in a medically-induced coma.
A man, 32-year-old Adam Hughes, has been arrested for charges related to the incident.
Hughes has been charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. SCSO says he has not been charged for the shooting.
At this time, deputies are releasing limited details about additional charges. They say they are still investigating the incident and trying to figure out what happened.
